Stackin was a message service with personalised content. It sent weekly messages to their users on how to save money, reduce debt, improve credit and start investing. It was fun, easy to consume and didn't use financial lingo. But it wasn't working. It wasn't helping people improve their finances. A huge change was needed.

Refining our mission

By actively listening to people, we identified areas where other budget apps felt short and where new opportunities lay. These interviews allowed us to empathize with our users, helping us refine our mission and align it with their evolving needs.

Bringing it to life

In designing our app, we made a deliberate choice to use earthy tones to create a calming and soothing environment for our users. We understand that dealing with certain topics can potentially bring anxiety, so our aim was to alleviate these feelings by creating a visually comforting experience. Our intention was to mold the app's aesthetic closer to that of a health management app rather than a financial one, as we believe that the right mindset is crucial when it comes to effectively addressing one's well-being.

End of the project

Changing behavior is an uphill battle, and being a pioneer app in a new area takes it to a whole new level. So we were prepared for the long haul. We were encouraged by the multiple positive feedback we received, which validated our efforts and gave us hope. However, we knew that refining our user journey flow would require more time and patience. Unfortunately, our aspirations were hit hard by unfavorable market conditions.
